What do you get when you mix five girls with cocktails and top quality red meat? Happy hour at Morton’s, of course! Not too long ago, the renowned steakhouse opened its doors on
Who can resist mini succulent cheeseburgers cooked to near perfection? Or lightly battered, crispy chicken coujonettes served with mustard mayonnaise? What about a crab and artichoke dip accompanied by French bread croutons? We definitely couldn’t! We ordered these items plus everything else on the $3 happy hour menu! In addition, the happy hour fare also included $2 shrimp cocktails and dollar oysters.
Not everything was juicy and appetizing however. The cheddar and bacon potato skins were a little on the greasy side, and the oysters lacked any sort of plumpness and flavor. Nevertheless, the trip is still deliciously worth it.
Another added bonus is the bar’s superior list of martinis, charmingly named “Mortini’s”. A few of the specialty concoctions include The James Bond, made with Absout vodka, a lemon twist, and “shaken not stirred”; The Scotland Yard, made with Boodles gin, Chivas 18-year, and a lemon twist; and The Georgetown, made with Ketel One vodka, a splash of Grand Marnier, and an orange slice.
